Regulatory status
How LegalX operates in the UK and Pakistan.
LegalX is a legal services provider based in Islamabad, Pakistan. For UK clients we provide unreserved legal activities only, within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007.
We are not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the Bar Standards Board (BSB) or any other UK legal regulator. For UK matters we do not carry on any reserved legal activity — namely the exercise of a right of audience, the conduct of litigation, reserved instrument (conveyancing) activities, probate activities, notarial activities, or the administration of oaths.
Neither LegalX nor any of its personnel is a solicitor or barrister of England & Wales, and we do not hold ourselves out as such. Our founder is an Advocate of the High Court of Pakistan; in Pakistan he provides full legal services, including representation in court, under Pakistani law.
For UK law-firm clients, LegalX acts as a support provider working under the supervision of the instructing firm, which retains conduct of, and responsibility for, the matter and the client relationship.
Because we are not regulated by a UK legal regulator, UK clients are not able to access the Legal Ombudsman or the SRA Compensation Fund in relation to our services. If you require services that are reserved, or that must be provided by a regulated person, you should instruct a suitably authorised UK lawyer.
Nothing on this website is legal advice, and no lawyer-client relationship is created by your use of it. Any engagement is governed by our Terms of Engagement.
